Taurus G3C 9mm T.O.R.O Taurus

Taurus G3C 9mm T.O.R.O Taurus (Taurus Optic Ready Option) is a compact, optics-ready striker-fired pistol that delivers exceptional value in the subcompact 9mm market. Designed for both concealed carry and home defense, this Brazilian-made handgun builds on the proven reliability of the G3 series while adding modern features like an optics-ready slide. With its 12-round magazine capacity (includes 10-round options for restricted states), snag-free design, and crisp trigger, the G3C T.O.R.O. stands out as one of the most budget-friendly optics-ready pistols available today.

What sets the G3C T.O.R.O. apart is its milled slide that accepts popular micro red dot sights like the **Shield RMSc and Holosun 407K** without requiring an adapter plate. The pistol comes with suppressor-height sights that co-witness with your optic, ensuring you maintain sight picture even if the dot fails. At just **22 ounces unloaded** with a 3.2-inch barrel, it strikes the perfect balance between shootability and concealability. The textured grip and undercut trigger guard provide a secure hold, while the improved trigger breaks cleanly at around **6 lbs** with a tactile reset – a significant upgrade from previous Taurus models.

For everyday carry, the G3C T.O.R.O. shines with its **slim 1.2-inch width** and multiple safety features including a manual safety, trigger safety, and loaded chamber indicator. The accessory rail accepts most compact lights, and the durable Tenifer finish resists holster wear. Compared to similar optics-ready pistols like the **S&W Shield Plus OR** or **Hellcat Pro**, the Taurus offers comparable features at a substantially lower price point (typically **$300-$350**), making optic-ready technology accessible to more shooters. Maintenance is straightforward with a simple takedown lever that doesn’t require trigger pulls for disassembly.

The G3C T.O.R.O. performs reliably with all types of 9mm ammunition from **115gr FMJ range ammo to 147gr hollow points** for defense. Recoil is manageable thanks to the ergonomic grip design, though the compact size does require proper technique. With its combination of optic readiness, proven reliability, and Taurus’s lifetime warranty, this pistol represents outstanding value whether you’re a first-time gun owner looking to step into red dot optics or an experienced shooter wanting an affordable backup carry gun. The included two-tone finish (black slide with stainless or FDE frame options) gives it a premium look that belies its budget-friendly price tag.
